Hagleitner Hygiene
Company portrait

Hagleitner designs hygiene: cleaning, disinfectants and care products, cosmetics – plus dispensers, dosing units and apps. The products are made in Zell am See in Austria. This is where Hagleitner has its headquarters and it is where research, development and production take place. Consulting, sales and logistics centres are also included, so the company operates at 27 sites in twelve European countries. Trading partners are active in 66 countries worldwide.

Hagleitner’s offering is geared towards businesses and public institutions. The in-house brand hagi brand is aimed at consumers.

Around 1,300 people are employed by Hagleitner altogether. The corporate group has recently generated revenue of €171 million. This figure relates to the financial year April 2025 to March 2026; the export share is 46 per cent.

Made in Austria

Three production divisions are combined in Zell am See:

  • The chemical-technical part produces hygiene products. These are disinfectants, including medical products. Soap, shower gel, cream and body lotion are also included. Hagleitner creates professional cleaning, laundry, care and dishwashing products – as well as room fragrance.
  • The paper plant converts base paper into tissue: toilet and hand towel tissue.
  • High-tech comes to life in dispenser construction with devices that deliver hygiene and transmit data. Hygiene means soap, paper, skin care, disinfectants, cleaners, and room fragrances. Data means dispensing quantity, fill level and energy status. Hagleitner not only assembles the dispensers but also manufactures most of the components itself; through injection moulding, device parts take their shape on site.

Research and knowledge

Hagleitner has its own chemical laboratory on site. Hagleitner develops digital applications in-house; the apps make hygiene configurable, provide real-time information and make knowledge available.

Furthermore, the company runs a training facility – the Hagleitner Academy. It is also based at the headquarters in Zell am See; its hygiene courses appeal to a range of target groups: employees, partners and customers.

Family

Hagleitner has been around since 1971 and has always been a family-run business. Johann and Katharina Hagleitner lay the foundation stone. Son Hans Georg took over the reins in 1988; his wife Brigitte plays an active role in the company. Hans Georg and Brigitte have two daughters, Katharina and Stefanie. Since April 2025, both have been part of the company’s management. Initially, their father accompanied them in this role, and the transition lasted one year. Since April 2026, Katharina and Stefanie have been jointly leading the company, and the generational transition has been completed.

  • Katharina Hagleitner is responsible for direct sales and sales support. She also oversees human resources and the Hagleitner Academy. Katharina is also involved in finance, controlling and IT.
  • Stefanie Hagleitner is devoted to the product; she oversees its entire life cycle – from the initial idea to recycling. Stefanie is in charge of research and development, product management, the supply chain, production including infrastructure, quality assurance and marketing. At the same time, Stefanie manages the Global Business.
